volunteering, funding and specific projects. Also displays from other related
organisations.
1.15 – 2pm Workshop 1 - Bright Ideas
This workshop will be split into three sessions to look at how conservation is
linked to businesses, communities and schools. Case studies about specific local
projects will be briefly presented then ideas can be put forward by anyone who
wants to get involved. Facilitators will highlight the main issues and discover
what people’s needs are. Each group will have two facilitators.
Outputs - to come up with some ideas for projects along the North Devon coast,
and fit them to the four themes to be developed in workshop 2.
2 – 2.15pm Compile Ideas
Add ideas to four main flip charts and prioritise.
Time for coffee/tea etc.
2.15 – 3.15pm Workshop 2 - Make your ideas a reality
This workshop will be designed to develop specific projects further under four
main themes, ‘Marine Conservation’, ‘Coastal Landscape Conservation’,
‘Sustainable Tourism’ and ‘Linking the Local Economy to the Local Environment.’
The ideas suggested in workshop 1 will have been fitted into a theme and scored
in order of priority. Within these groups the facilitators will begin to focus
on a couple of the ideas which were seen to be a priority. Looking at developing
the ideas and issues like the support needed, resources, funding sources,
practical aspects of the projects.
Outputs – For each group to have developed at least one project to a stage where
it becomes realistic in a practical sense.
3.15 – 4pm Workshop 3 – The Next Steps- Forming a Network
An open forum with all attendees and facilitators present to develop projects
further. Issues regarding funding, support, what the next steps are, linking
groups already doing work to others and making partnerships. Those ideas not
developed specifically at this stage will be developed later as part of a
written plan. Details of the network and forthcoming events/projects can be
announced at this time e.g Tourism Conference, survey days, talks and
presentations etc.
4 – 4.30pm Closing Speech and Final Questions
A time for people to sign up to specific projects and pick up those last few
details or talk to that last person.
