Protecting Our Coast Workshop

Devon Wildlife Trust

If you love the North Devon coast, care about the environment, and have been thinking you would like to do something to protect it then this is the day for you.

Protecting our Coast is a new event where you can come and join like-minded individuals and work together to create new projects to help the conservation of our coastal environment. We will be getting together all the local experts as well as the people who can help us find some funding under one roof.

Ideas of projects so far are practical conservation work on the dunes and the beaches, survey and identification work, producing new interpretation about the coast and wildlife, ‘greening up’ your business and making links with local community projects. Other ideas are about developing sustainable tourism, education services and creating wildlife gardens along the coast. Please bring along any ideas you may have and we will try to make them a reality.

The day will be aimed at individuals, community groups, businesses and education providers. The projects are in your hands, so the more ideas we get the better.

This event is being co-ordinated by the Devon Wildlife Trust as part of the North Devon VMCA and the Northern Devon Coast and Countryside Service who are co-ordinating the Braunton Burrows Biosphere Reserve. The workshop is aimed at anyone who lives, works or plays in North Devon. The day is part funded by North Devon District Council and the SEED Fund.

If you would like to attend, please return the enclosed booking form and indicate your dietary requirements.
